I’m really feeling this evolve of sadness in me. Definitely I’m not alone with this feelings tonight. I wish I could say a lot, but its not an option right now. I want to say sorry to who ever known the late Mr. Hj Asmadi Hj Mohd Said, who was a great lecturer and also a tutor at Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education, Univerisiti Brunei Darussalam; English Department.

I send my deepest condolences to Hj Asmadi’s family, friends, colleague, students and to whoever known him for his friendliness, kindness and generosity during his time with us.

As one amongst his English student this early semester, I’ll definitely going to cherish that 2 hours on every Saturday morning with us. I’m all the way going to miss him as a lecturer and a tutor; and for him being a Bruneian and a local lecturer in UBD, I’ll forever make him as one of my idol inspiration for my coming future successs.

I want to do this, but is it for me?

Posted By Alid on December 19, 2008

Above are some books that I borrowed from UBD’s Library. Yeap as you can see, its listing of Counselling books  genre.  Something which are worth to read during this moment of “nothing to do”. This is just to gain some insight if, I really want to be part of Counseling Department or not. Speaking of counselling being part of psychotherapy, there’s a lot of understanding and memorization of theories approaches that needed to learn. Undergoing that atmosphere is a real challenge and it seems parallel to learn and memories all the meaning of each words in a dictionary.

So here’s the time frame to become a future Student Counsellor in School, in a realistic conditions (Amin):

1) Graduate in Diploma in Primary Education (2009)

- 3 years teaching experience in school

2) Back in Learning, taking Bachelor in Primary/TESL education for  3 Years (2012)

- 3 years teaching experience in school

3) Back in learning, Taking Certificates of Counselling, English medium? (2018)

- Being a counsellor in school for the rest of my remaining age.

This is just a plan, and seriously most plans doesn’t really goes the way we expected. HAHA. I wish I could just speed up time.  Maybe  by the time I reach  being a counsellor in school, I might be 30 years old by then. :S

My brother and I did calculate if I could take an immediate upgrade programme but it seems to be ain’t a wise decisions to take a Loan. After I graduated, I’m sure the lumps of debt I need to pay will burden my way of living in the future. It may be exciting during the early loan and learning experience, but during the working environment, I’m sure i can feel the debt puling my expenses.

I wish there’s a rich fellas, who could give  me a scholarship independently. Being an average person in this Brunei Community its just hard to get such opportunity. With all young youth here and there being so intellectual ability in education, where do I stand and where do I compete?

Thus my dream to gain a single degree will take a journey about 9 years from the day I graduated with 2 A levels. I’m sure those who have the oppurtunity being able to complete a Three year course degree after their A levels is a bless. With this hardship and deep planing of mine, the journey after A levels with you guys (the 3 years degree after A levels friends), I’m sure you understand by now, how most people like me want to be like you and want to be experience what you guys are dealing right now. I hope you won’t take granted of what you have. So I immediate say: “Start working and gain your Degree at least 1st Class Upper (Honour).”

I wish I have the oppurtunities, Amin.

A Dreamer and a Journey to Appreciate

Posted By Alid on December 12, 2008

I did said to myself, if my eldest sister succeed with her MB BS; Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery, I’ll absolutely vanish all my dark emotion and be a very happy person immediately. Unfortunately, until right now, I still feel the emptiness. It’s hard to explain, but everything seems to illustrate my wants and needs deficiency. It’s sad how we witness all those list are either expired or permanently untainable. In life you chase uncountable dreams, but at the end of the route you’ll find two doors: You gain it or You lost it. Those who quit will failed, but those who still fight for their dreams will still carries hope on their shoulders. And for me, I still keep my dream on and on.. I failed most of the times and frankly it did brought me to the ground. I rise sooner or later and I still keep chasing and creating new dreams because I’m a dreamer.

“I’m a dreamer, but will my dream come true?”

For few minutes, when you started to dream about something, it give you a boost of energy to think for it and to be ambitious about it. During those time the adrenaline are still pumping in your blood vessels to act as a motivation to pursue your dreams. Planing your dreams is not the only thing that can make it come true. Considerations of other factors which involved in your dream such as money, time and people who surround to make your dream happens are also empowered our dream. Therefore being a dreamer is not everything, but trying to make your dream come true is the real ingredient.

It’s true: “If we don’t have our dreams, we have nothing.”

The feeling of my emptiness is the feeling of having nothing due to my unreachable dreams. It’s a feeling of incomplete if your can’t have what you want; and its a feeling of dieing if you can’t have what you need. And humanity is not the only one who’s feelings this; all living things have this kind of ‘feelings’ that categories it as a living species. Therefore, it is wise if you don’t fight yourself to stop dreaming. Some say over dreaming can be a dangerous thing, it can make you go c-r-a-z-y~; and yes we do experience some people going nuts for their ultimate failure and eventually went to a suicide process. But be a healthy dreamer, plan it wisely, if you failed once, try it again. If it also failed, then it time to give room to a new dream for you to achieve.

“If you can’t appreciate the dream yet, appreciate the journey now.”

They say, the journey is whats counts  not the destination and also, the journey is the one that defines the destination. Both are my favourite quotes. As you all know by now, we can’t have all the dreams in hands. But trying to accomplish those dreams, from the beginning towards the result; its something more meaningful than what your dreaming about .It proves yourselves how you had work hard along the journey and failing your dream doesn’t put you into a failure box, but it places you with those who had work hard for their living too. Yet, we must remember, the journey itself will help us to define our journey, and we can’t take the journey for granted. -end-

A room in the Bodleian Library, Oxford University where graduands change into their new gowns and hoods part of the way through the graduation ceremony. You might recognise this room from, amongst other films, “The Madness of King George” and even “Harry Potter”! Bodleian Library is attached with Divinity School building of Oxford University.

Right now, I’m feeling bless that all my eldest siblings succeed with their educations. Here’s the summaries of my siblings success:

1) Tini: Bachelor (Hons) in Biomedical : Dec, 2004 (Queensland University, Australia)
2) Wafi: Bachelor (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering : July, 2008 (Newcastle University formerly known as Newcastle Upon Tyne University, United Kingdom)
3) Tiwi: BA (Hons) Primary Education : Oct, 2008 (Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Brunei)
4) Tini: MBBS a.k.a  Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (Hons) : Dec, 2008 (Queensland University, Australia)

InsyaAllah:

5) Walid: Diploma in Primary Education 2009? YES, AMIN to get graduated for the fifth times in my family!
6) Wafi: Master in Mechanical Engineering 2009?

Talking about dream earlier, I wish to pursue to becoming a Professional Counseling Educator at school because I DREAM of it, OR a Physical Education Teacher as I did  VERY WELL during my elective course last semester :P But then again, its just a dream, I might just enjoyed what I have for now. But do wishes for an opportunity for my dream to come true and hopefully I pass my Diploma. Amin

Just to show off to the public! for awareness :) My super duper Misato Restaurant, Japanese Restaurant; Brunei!

Just arrived, sit down comfortably, then I was given this privilege form to fill. What a honor! She said because i was a regular customer; My spending was barely reach 20$, and the card was for minimum purchase of $50! I’m honored!

Traditionally, You pay at the counter, if you reach 50$ then you are entitled to register the member privilege geng!

The new memo: Spend $50 to get an privilege card member.

I think credit goes to my Friend Hamdi for indirectly mentioning this to the Misato Supervisor Lady? I still remember He mentioned about the Honda Member Card thingi.. Maybe but possible! But before this privilege card was introduced, we mostly get a 10% discount :P

Volcano Roll! Ultimate favorite!
A new sushi and dishes also been born! I got a 5 minutes brief on the new foods by the lady! awesome experience, but i was actually tempting to dig on my sushi ASAP!
