Happy Birthday Bro
Filed Under Personal, Sports | Leave a Comment
First, I want to say Happy Birthday to My Brother, Abdul Wafi Misli, currently in Newcastle, doing his final year on Mechanical engineering. Best of luck to him and semoga di panjang kan umur :D. To my Sister, Hartini Misli, Best of luck on your exams, she called last few night back mentioning, her coming exams are among the toughest she will be doing. Hopefully both will succeed. Amin.
Disappointment
England Squad are out; Euro2008. Impossible? England lost only 1 point from the Table Group E. The final result against Croatia, last night or should I say tadi subuh England 2 - Croatia 3. It was an emotional game, especially during the early game nil to 2 for Croatia. England tried very hard for the 2nd half, and manage to neutral Croatia with 2-2 but luck or fate or I don’t know what to call it, Mladen Petrić manage to score a goal for Croatia. Left with critical time, England had barely enough time to cure the game, which leave them with no obligation to accept the final result 2-3. For full report: Minute by minute.
I was watching the game alone, di dapur, or kitchen for your English understanding. As an England’s fan, it was a really horrible, kan menangis ku pun inda. Seriously very emotional time eh..
The game didn’t not just leave with tears in fact Steve McClaren got sacked the next morning (GMT 8:30), by the FA board. So yeah? who will be the new Coach? Mourinho? :D Btw, the players was’nt performing very well.. England failed to qualified to major game since 1994. Lastly Beck’s is among the best English Lad’s ever. Happy for his respond for not retiring from international game.

England players hurting - Beckham
Beckham says he is not retiring from international football |
David Beckham has insisted England’s millionaire footballers are suffering badly after their Euro 2008 qualification exit. Responding to the suggestion England players do not care enough, Beckham said: “There are some people out there who will say that.
“But trust me, there is a lot of hurt in that dressing room at the moment.
“It doesn’t matter how much money you earn, how many houses or cars you’ve got. When you lose, it hurts.
After losing 3-2 to Croatia at Wembley and blowing their chance to qualify for next summer’s European Championships in Austria and Switzerland, England players struggled to look to the future.
“It’s pointless saying much at the end of the game, but you’ve got a very disappointing dressing room,” said captain Steven Gerrard.
“From the player’s point of view, we’ve got to take the criticism, get on with it, and try and bounce back.
“There’s a lot more football to play in the future and we’ve got to bounce back. We can’t feel sorry for ourselves.
“Obviously we’re disappointed and the moment, but we’ve got to try and get it out of our system. But it will be difficult.” from BBC

Education Does Not Mean Good Judgement.

Harvard University
There is a story about a man who sold hot dogs by the roadside. He was illiterate, so he never read newspapers. He was hard of hearing, so he never listened to the radio. His eyes were weak, so he never watched television. But enthusiastically, he sold lots of hot dogs. His sales and profit went up. He ordered more meat and got himself a bigger and a better stove. As his business was growing, the son, who had recently graduated from college, joined his father.
Then something strange happened. The son asked, “Dad, aren’t you aware of the great recession that is coming our way?” The father replied, “No, but tell me about it.” The son said, “The international situation is terrible. The domestic is even worse. We should be prepared for the coming bad time.” The man thought that since his son had been to college, read the papers, and listened to the radio, he ought to know and his advice should not be taken lightly. So the next day, the father cut down his order for the meat and buns, took down the sign and was no longer enthusiastic. Very soon, fewer and fewer people bothered to stop at his hot dog stand. And his sales started coming down rapidly. The father said to his son, “Son, you were right. We are in the middle of a recession. I am glad you warned me ahead of time.”
What is the moral of the story?
1. Many times we confuse intelligence with good judgment.
2. A person may have high intelligence but poor judgment.
3. Choose your advisers carefully and use your judgment.
4. A person can and will be successful with or without formal education if they have the 5 Cs:
• character
• commitment
• conviction
• courtesy
• courage
5. The tragedy is that there are many walking encyclopaedias who are living failures.
Look at this: -
A study attributed to Harvard University found that when a person gets a job, 85% of the time it is because of their attitude, and only 15% of the time because of how smart they are and how many facts and figures they know. Surprisingly, almost 100% of education dollars go to teach facts and figures which account for only 15% of success in work!
———————————
Respond by Ir. Hj. Othman Bin Hj. Ahmad
I’ve seen this quotes many times but they are actually full of falacies. The author confuses the son’s knowledge of the impending recession as the son’s superior intelligence. If the son were properly educated, he should be able to act on the information that he receives, instead of just telling about facts and figures.
Education is about learning how to apply facts and figures towards solving problems. This is especially true to Mathematical subjects but even English subjects emphasises on the ability to apply vocabulary towards writing a good essay and towards understanding the meaning of the sequences of words. Knowing the the meaning of individual words is not so much emphasizes.
The son was certainly a bad college student, instead of a good student because of his failure to formulate solutions to the facts and figures that are presented to him.
The best universities in the world teaches theoretical foundations instead of current technologies. For example, Cambridge University Engineering Schools’ Curriculum, do not specialize their subjects until the final year. Unlike most standard Universities. It means that they may not be knowledgeable at a specific technology, but they are well equipped to critically analyze and learn any new technologies.
Malaysian parliament recently lamented the lack of quality of our local universities and started to quote that a student of music at Oxford University were highly paid in a corporate body(or something of this nature), forgetting that students at these Universities were taught differently. They are not taught on specific technologies or knowledge, but the ability to analyse and innovate.
Our local Members of Parliament conclude that this is due to the culture that had been brought up out of their hundreds of years traditions, which is a faulty judgment because many Universities in Singapore have much higher ranking than those in Malaysia that had existed much longer.
As to the figures that 85% of students achieve success in work not due to their success in Universities, implying that it is a waste of money sending our students to Universities, is certainly not accepted by the majority of the population of the world, including the USA, where this information originates.
Look at the facts world-wide. By dollar value, the most successful corporations are still led by academically brilliant CEO’s. Many quote Bill Gates as an example of a University dropout, forgetting that he was accepted to the elite University in the USA, implying that his SAT score is among the highest in USA.
In government service, Singapore, that insists on First Class Honours for their top administrators, and most of them are graduates from Oxford and Cambridge Universities, is acknowledged as the best governed in the whole world, much better than the government of USA, that is highly politicised.
The explanation is simple. Although attitude is important, it is the presence of desirable attitude that enables students to excel in University Examinations. The attidute of hard-work, time-management, ability to absorb, manipulate and analyse facts, figures and information, and most importantly, understand what is being written or told, which is the first and most essential step in having a good communication.
A good scholar is simply someone who has a good grasp of issues and understand the relevant information in the most correct way, so that we can communicate with him conveniently. How well he solves problems depends on how well we give him information. If we give him lousy information, he would surely make lousy decisions.
In my honest opinion, the ability to understand, i.e. to communicate effectively through various means, is the most important element in problem solving, above that of knowledge. Knowledge can become obsolete and humans cannot remember for long periods of time. The ability to recall these memory by revising their textbooks and updating themselves with the current literatures is by far the most important ability.
Many scholars are inhibited in making good recommendations due to the lack of materials but by making these materials available through the internet, and learning how to master the art of searching for information through the internet, many more scholars will be able to contribute towards solving the world’s problems.

If I’m not mistaken, Jimbo tagged me, on 7 weirdest things about yourself.. if ku inda perasan lah.. hmm I got a lots of weird behavior too, but I’ll mention the most descents (& few) only, or else my self image would be corrupted tia. I wont list 7 of them, but as you read along, you’ll actually find it. :D
Where should I begin?
Exams is pain in the brain, especially when it comes to revising your work, I kinda dislike it, but what the heck its part of human life, where we must go through it for success :D One more week, before I slam my ass on the exam’s chair. Should be fun right. Should be fun.. right~
Last Friday
After my Friday Prayers , I went Straight to UBD, wait! I just remember I went to the HSBC in the CBD 1st before i went to UBD library. I went to the Bank do get my new ATM card, and that would be the last journey to HSBC for this month. At UBD’s library, I went to the Curriculum Resource, to get any Spain Book availble, for my research this December. Sadly, I can only find some revision book for spanish. LOL. Since I have nothing to get too, I did borrowed the Spanish revision books :D
30 mins before the library close, I rest my self and started to wonder, and observe the people surround me. ‘Psycho-ly’ I did manage to focus on some group of the people there, I did giggle after observing them with their funny behavior. Later, I decided to go to Empire to take some photos for her coursework assignment.
It was fun, wait fun? It’s was rather boring.. but then again, randomness strikes, I keep on observing people haha cute? 1hour later: I was on the way to my Car, I caught up with Dr. Paolo, my spanish lecturer, and we did a 4-7 minutes talks about my proposal for UBD. Mengacau aku ah, ia kan liat French movie di cinema haha..
Night plan
Back home, had a warm shower, and after Maghrib, I went to Gadong to meet up with Dee (Fluffymamas). She wanted to give me an invitation for my friend. So why not? Helping people is a Good People. Ok. that didn’t rhyme well lol. I was kinda early, so I went to Baiduri Bank, Mall to link my Mastercards to my FAST account.
Went to McDonald, and met with Dee and Boy. We had a great conversation, ada flow bui.. 2 Hours talking with them was awesome. Boy, his mind is incredible (just like his brother, Mas), a liberal type of business minded guy. He nearly brained wash me, Nasib baik tahan iman ku hehe. Oyeah, I really like Dee, and I respect her, How did she do it? I mean every time I want to say something, she automatically, break into silent or listening phase. Giler handal eh.. I mean, seriously, I’m the type of guy, who hardly even shut my mouth when people are trying to begin or while talking. God I respect her.. She did it well. Oyeah we talked a lot of things, life, hmm life again.. career, Brunei, Future, December plans.. oh I love to participate with you guys too this December. Just give me a ring.
Dee’s RED PRODUCT!! IPOD!! lawa.. but mcm purple.. hmm but still red product :D I like, I want.
Hmm, while we were having the conversation, I kinda admit to myself that, I like people. I mean seriously, from languages, I want to learn as many languages as I can. So, If I really do have the opportunity of learning language very deep, as for Spanish, French, German, Serbian, Turkish and Mandarin, why not? coz I would love to see myself well spoken of these language(s) to communicate those people out there easily. I do have to admit too about my 2nd passion is in Human Science. Psychology, Sociology Philosophy and Anthropology is the one that I really wanted to be in. I wish I can do one of them for my 1st degree field. If I was born rich, I can easily slip my way in some universities, but in reality, I’m just waiting for the opportunity door. So, I hope if you fellow readers, would kindly pray for my opportunity to go on those field in the future. Language and Human Science. AMIN. Btw with the present of these passion, in languages and human science (social science), I think, being in this Education field is not so bad at all. I think I’m fitting it :D

Rafael Nadal boosted his hopes of reaching the Masters Cup semi-finals with a 6:4, 6:4 win over Serbian number one Novak Djokovic.
Djokovic put up a much better fight than in his opening two defeats but the relentless Spaniard was too strong.
Nadal broke once to take the first set and then again at 1:1 in the second to take control.
The world number two must await the result of the last Gold Group match between Richard Gasquet and David Ferrer to see if he will progress.
If Gasquet wins that match by two sets to one, it will leave the Frenchman level with Nadal and Ferrer on points as well as sets won and lost.
The two semi-finalists would then be decided by games won and lost.
Djokovic is the only player definitely out of contention but despite losing all three group matches, he leaves Shanghai with his pride restored.
The 20-year-old put his lacklustre displays in his opening two matches down to mental and physical exhaustion after a breakthrough season, but he seemed determined to go down fighting.
At 3:4 in the second set, Djokovic threw everything at Nadal, earning two break points with some dazzling shot-making.
But Nadal, who lost in three sets to fellow Spaniard Ferrer in his last match, eventually ground down his opponent and Djokovic was unable to muster a recovery.

How can I smile, when I have lost my wallet?
Filed Under Personal | Leave a Comment
Last Monday was the worst day to begin my week, well yeah one of the worst I guess in my life so far. Before I go on with the tragedy, let me say few things what I did last Sunday.
The Sunday
Last Sunday was the last Sejarah “History” full rehearsal before the final day to show it off. Went to UBD around 8-9am. We did actually well during the practice, in the same time, me and my fellow mate were also working on our slides, to accompany our drama. After things are settle, Some of us decided to have Lunch at Shalha’s Cribs, somewhere in Mentiri, and yeah we did go there to enjoy our free meal. Thankx Shalha. Good food, everytime.. lol.
At 2pm, I have a 2nd meeting, but I tend to go late, as I wanted my sister to send me to my destination, aka I’m too tired to drive. The next meeting was at Jalan Damuan, at Wadud Mena’s place. Mena kindly, offer me to help her with her Sejarah team, so I without hesitation willing to help her and her team, since they are listed as a good friends in my cognition. Eventually I arrived at the place at 3pm, I was really “don’t know” what to do anything, but Mena’s guide me everything throughout the day.
I love Projector! That’s my wallpaper btw.
Anuar and Tajul barakat PS: Someone just force Anuar to be a ‘Her’ for a while~ His not gay or anything.. his straight, no worries.
It was hilarious being in “Tajul, Ain, fifiey and Mena” drama. Beside me, Wafiy, Mathius, Tan, Donis, and Nuar, also helped them along. We were well laughing around, but with Mena’s guides and the way she work professionally, we did great improvisations of the last minute set up. We ate, we drink, we talk, we play, we laugh, we went down to sad for the stories that couldn’t be accepted, and lastly we work awesome. Now I know why Mena “have” been called “Mummy” by Ain and Tajul (etc), because the love of her guiding her friends is so sincere like mothers who guide her son and daughter in this world. I’m really honored to be invited as part of their group.
Fifiey aka HBO, my great friend since form 4B at SMSAB
I went home at 12am+, yeah Tajul send me home.. Basically we were the last two to go back home. I was really tired, but fun. And sigh~, I missed watching my Bestfriend tournament LOL. “Novak Djokovic VS Richard Gasquet“.
One of the day when I forget to smile
Early morning, it was ok, just like the normal day. I packed my laptops, and my brother Alt. Len. Speaker, and set off to UBD. At 9am, My tummy started to make his annoyance. At 11, just when I went into the lecturer hall in the chancellor hall, I decided to go home for a rest and come back at 1 to prepare everything for the Sejarah Drama. As I walked towards my car, I took out my keys from my wallet, “I usually put my keys inside my wallet, zipped”. Go inside the car and drove away from UBD.
In the middle of the highroad, I founded out that, my Wallet was absent inside my car, “I usually put, place it on the passenger seats”. I was Terrified. Holding such pain in my tummy, wasn’t helping but making it worst even more. So I drove as fast as I could back to the chancellor parking. Sadly, My wallet were no where to be seen. I went back to the chancellor hall, to get help from friends, because I need to block my cards. But I don’t have the hot line number. Thankx to fifiey for having Baiduri and HSBC cards. Why? the hot line is printed on the Cards lah..
I called Baiduri 1st, and I asked them to temporary block my cards for three days. Then I called HSBC. HSBC kinda more “safety”. They ask you your birthday, your address, Where you want to get the replacement card, Do you want to keep or change your Pin number, and finally they block it! So yeah.. It was kinda stress lah to actually answer those questions, while you were mentally unstable. But no worries, its just for security right. no harm is done.
Back at the lecturer hall, guess what? with this craziness of losing your wallet, the pain in my tummy was gone!! Back in the chancellor hall, I was heavenly panic, with mix emotions, which I basically holds tears on my eyes :s, seriously I was damn sad. “I don’t really know what to do next” were playing in my mind after I had call the two banks. Thinking how to replace my IC and Driving license was the two things that really made a massive crush inside my brain. Here’s the valuable things that I “might” lost are:
1) $113 ($98 was meant to pay my espeed bill for the month)
2) Baiduri Mastercard
3) Baiduri Visa
4) Baiduri Atm
5) HSBC ATM
6) My license
7) My identity Card, Lastly
8) My discount cards including Seri Qlap , Bismi, Headstart etc.
My mood was very low, but I didn’t want my friends to be worried, and I have two dramas involved, so I need to be professional and cool. :D The only thing that I can’t do is to really smile the day. It was really hard for me to be myself, wanted to enjoy the day, but all I can do is keep praying inside my mind for my wallet to be back, and the only thing that I want to do is to focus my both dramas involvement.
The Drama
The MPH (MultiPurposeHall) opened at two. From the moment the door open, I just focus on setting up my laptop, the Radio and amplifier etc. Other then that I just remain calm. The huge problems should I say, is that I haven’t assign yet for our SlideMan for our drama. Thankfully Fatma volunteer to do it for us. She did a wonderful work! I did my Japanese drama, it went well, and I did my part as a slideman for Tajul’s drama. After the dramas were over, its time for me to clean and pack up the stereo and everything.
The Polis Station
I went to The Bandar Headquarters to file my report. But sadly, the policemen said that the person who is in charge in filling the report have left the building. Because from his statement, the filling report is open during the office hours. He insist me going to the 24hrs polis branch at The Mall, Gadong. So I decided to call my sister, since i was really down, and since I don’t have a license to drive the car too. So I called my sis, where she was, and she responded that shes on the way home. I asked her to wait for me, coz i wanted her to bring me to the Police station at The Mall.
On the way to Gadong, mysteriously my dad called my sister, and asked where she is. She told my dad that we were going to the Polis station bla bla. My dad ask us to return home because my wallet was incredibly was returned by unknown person. So we returned, but my mood still wasn’t growing.
Finally Home
Home, I found out that all my belonging was still there. GOSH!! thank you to who ever you are. Your good deeds will be replied by the Almighty someday. But still the night wasn’t as happy that I can be. The depressing experience cause my emotion to be down for a while.
What now?
Gosh how to activate back my 3 Baiduri Cards, My HSBC Cards without a Polis report? TOING~ So I let it be and I would like to deal it the next day.
Tuesday Morning
The morning, I called HSBC, if they could activate my cards back, but they said, they can’t and asked me to visitthe nearest HSBC branch. Without further a due, I went to Yayasan to deal with my Baiduri Cards, I met a nice ITB attachment at Baiduri (who attended me), Shes so friendly, and I respect her for her professional attitude. She even promo me the new Baiduri Mobile banking.. So i did apply, and walla~ I can top up my mastercard, check my balance, buy b.mobile top up and Easi recharge in the matter of a Phone call using my mobile phone! Oyeah Baiduri gave me a new FREE!! Mastercard CASH CARD!! again!!.. it worth 26$, haha I got my 1st MASTERCARD last year for free TOO!! btw, why do I need a lot of mastercard? while the money is still the same.. SIKIT aka few. Oyeah all my Baiduri cards have been unblocked. Nasib baik ku ask them temporary block sja.
Fast Service! Baiduri Bank’s Mobile service!
Next HSBC, Bandar
You know what, on the way towards HSBC, I was regretting to be having two accounts in a separate banks. God, there’s a lot to go lah. Reached to the bank, and asked if they can unblock my ATM Card. She said they can’t, and my new ATM have been created, wait for the next day to get it, and my PIN number is on the way posted into my house address. TOING~ But I did ask them if I could keep my old HSBC; she said, no problem, but she said don’t ever use it, coz, they cant give it back if it got “eaten” haha.
In the end of the day, basically I have ONE B. visa, TWO B. Mastercard, Two ATM (B/H) + 1 Useless (H) ATM for memory.
Today
I’m too lazy to go to the HSBC bank to get my new Card, since my Pin number haven’t arrived yet. My UBD Card was printed! The women there; we had a personal chit chat and it was kinda amazing, while she printed my card, she miss spell my daddy name! (instead of misli she spelled masli) Atu ya, ia cakap, ko punya pasal nie bawa aku cerita haha. She graduated in 1999, WOW!! in Computer Science, she said its a siok course. Oyeah I change my picture, using my kurus version of picture, siok eh, senang di runding~ After 3 semester gone baru tah ada UBD card, Toing~ I went to Yayasan Hua Ho sport section, and GOD, I felt I really wanna cry seeing the Orange Wilson (Ncode) Tennis Racket! I really want it badly eh. The racket is adequate for my height and weight wah! its cost $100+ but if i buy it, dengan siapa ku main? Lid pandai ko main kan? But yet its the best present if I received it haha, oyeah next month is my bufday jgn lupa k.

Novak Djokovic’s Masters Cup hopes are all but over after a straight-sets defeat to Richard Gasquet in Shanghai on Tuesday.
The world number three had been expected to challenge for the title at the season-ending ATP tournament but his 6:4, 6:2 loss - his second of the round-robin stage - means he is on the brink of elimination.
Only a string of unlikely results will now keep him in the eight-man event - starting with a shock win for David Ferrer over Rafael Nadal in today’s other match.
Djokovic struggled on serve throughout - losing five of his 10 service games.
He won just 50 per cent of the points on his own first serve, while Gasquet had a much better 77 per cent.
The Frenchman wrapped up victory in an hour and 25 minutes and now knows victory over Ferrer in his final group match on Thursday is likely to be enough to take him into the last four.
Djokovic will play his last official ATP match in 2007 on Thursday, when he faces world number two, Rafael Nadal of Spain.

I’m Being Serious
Filed Under Personal, Sports | Leave a Comment
Hola, damn I’m freakin’ bored right now, I have nothing to do, well I still got my sivik essay to finish, but I let it done for tomorrow. Something wrong with me, something really bothers me this past few nights. I can’t really recognize the problems, but hell the annoyance of thinking is so “seriously” crazy. It’s like you keep thinking on something, but you can’t recall it. God, I think I may have encounter an mental disorder or illness. I guess I need to visit a professional therapy moment. sigh..
Maybe I’m just typically bored with my life I guess. I really need a vacation, or I just need something periodic new in life. Something fresh, like meeting new people. If only I have the Bling to visit and travel (frequently) every countries that I wish to visit “haha I really have a long list bro“. It would be adventures! and fun i guess. Meeting new people, new environment and cultures it should be excelente~. I’m really craving for Euro Trip, who cares whats the country are like, who cares if I were to be in Kosovo (I would really love to meet the Serbians; Belgrade, Serbia), coz the fact is, I seriously need to have a break and take care of my soul to somewhere where no one will know me. So yeah, I wish in the future, I have a chance to work in Europe. Amin! So I guess that’s enough about my “angan2” right now.
Sport Update:
1) I forgot to mention that (on my last sport update), Liverpool drops to 6 (position) after a draw with Arsenal, 1-1, 28 Oct. And later on they will face Blackburn, So i hope they win it later.
2) Horrible week for Tennis World? My bestfriend, Novak Djokovic, the Serbians (haha please get used to this guys, it will be frequently use here), Lost to the frenchman, Fabrice Santoro (3-6, 2-6). Nole have been losing his energetic level since his last match with Nalbandian in Madrid ATP series.. David Nalbandian steamrolled Rafael Nadal to win Paris and claim his second Masters Series event in a row. haha handal eh si Nalbandian nie. Again I say, it was stated that this year Nalbandian was having his worst play round. but men, he won two ATP masters series (1st Madrid, then Paris) in about a month? lol. God pretty amazing huh?
